Order Ampicillin 500 mg Online to treat pneumonia
Ampicillin 500 mg is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminopenicillin group. Its mechanism of action is anti-bacterial and consists of the inhibition of the construction of bacterial cell walls sensitive to Ampicillin 500. It is not destroyed by the acidic content of the stomach and is easily absorbed. Ampicillin 500mg is active toward gram positive microorganisms and also some gram negative ones (salmonella, schigella, proteus, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, formerly called Pfeiffer’s bacillus) and is used for treatment of diseases provoked by mixed bacteria. Microorganisms producing penicillase are resistant to Ampicillin. This medication is used to treat pneumonia and other infectious diseases of the respiratory, urogenital, and gastrointestinal systems.
Active substance
The active substance of the antibiotic Ampicillin 500 mg or Ampicillin 250 mg (Low Dosage) is obtained as a result of the chemical reaction of acylation of 6-aminopenicillanic acid by residue aminophenylacetic acid. This substance is resistant to the acidic environment. The drug is included in the pharmacological group of beta-lactam antibiotics.
Indications for use
Ampicillin is used in acute infectious and inflammatory diseases.
- Pneumonia and/or inflammation of the bronchi (various types of pneumonia), abscesses (ulcers), lungs, sore throat, sinusitis, tonsillitis, etc.;
- An infection of the digestive system and soft tissue (often after surgery);
- Diseases of the urinary channel caused by Proteus, Escherichia coli, enterococci, etc. (cystitis, pyelonephritis, pyelitis, etc.);
- Cholangitis, cholecystitis);
- As well as gonorrhea, peritonitis (inflammation of the abdominal cavity), cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder), and sepsis (blood infection with purulent inflammation).
Ampicillin is an antibiotic with the widest application. This drug can also be of great help in the treatment of pregnant women suffering from skin infections (erysipelas, impetigo, dermatitis, etc.) and infections caused by chlamydia.
Dosage
Before the start of the drug, every patient should be tested for sensitivity of intestinal microflora to the antibiotic. The drug is administered orally, regardless of the meal. For adults, it is recommended to take pills of 0.5 g 4-6 times a day. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 12 pills per day. For children, a dose is calculated as 100 mg per kg of body weight.
The length of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and the efficacy of the drug in a particular situation. Treatment with this drug may last from 5-7 days to 2-3 weeks.
Drug Interactions
This antibiotic weakens the effect of oral contraceptives and their enterohepatic circulation in the body. It enhances the actions of anticoagulants and aminoglycoside antibiotics.
With simultaneous use of ampicillin and allopurinol, the likelihood of skin rash increases. Diuretics, probenecid, phenylbutazone, and allopurinol can reduce tubular secretion of ampicillin, which in its turn may lead to an increase in its concentration in the blood plasma, and there is a risk of toxic effects.
Bactericidal antibiotics, including cephalosporins, vancomycin, rifampicin, and others, have a synergistic effect, while bacteriostatic (macrolides, chloramphenicol, lincosamides, tetracyclines, sulfonamides) have an antagonistic effect.
Storage
Ampicillin is to be stored at room temperature, between 68 °F and 77 °F (20-25 °C), in its original container, tightly closed and away from heat, light, and moisture. Do not store it in the bathroom. The product must be kept out of the reach of children and pets at all times. Any medication that is out of date should be disposed of safely (any pharmacist will be able to advise you on disposal instructions).
Notes
Do not share Ampicillin 500 mg with anyone else. It is recommended that you always complete a prescribed course. Do not use Ampicillin at a later date for a different medical reason, unless advised by your doctor.
